Santa Arrives At Golf Mill, 10 A.M. Saturday

Ready for some holiday excitement, kids of all ages? Santa will arrive on a shiny red firetruck at Golf Mill Shopping Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17.?

After stepping off near Entrance #8, the jolly elf will parade inside, then magically light up 11 decorated trees.

That will kick off this year?s Festival of Trees giving program. Anyone who brings one or more cans (or boxes) of food can use them to vote for their favorite decorated tree.?The food donations will replenish the Maine Township Food Pantry.

The day?s festivities boast several free incentives which include: children?s goody bags in Center Court filled with coloring books, stickers and candy canes, elf hats, cookies and refreshments, and?Golf?Mill?coupon booklets containing 48 holiday stores savings, while supplies last.

The 3rd annual Festival of Trees is a friendly competition inviting organizations to decorate trees that will be on display next to JCPenney from Saturday, November 17 ? Sunday, December 16.??Families, friends and shoppers can vote for their favorite tree by donating non-perishable food items at the Customer Service Center.

Each non-perishable item will count as one vote.??The tree with the most ?votes? wins a trophy and $100 Sears gift card.?Shoppers can track the progress of donations on?Golf?Mill?s Facebook. For every five likes an individual picture of a tree receives on Facebook, one vote will be applied to that tree?s tally.

Golf?Mill?is excited to see the creative ideas of the participating organizations, which have each decorated a tree: Niles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Parents & Teachers Association of Ignacy J Paderewski Polish School, Gordon Food Service Market Place, Niles Fire Department, Niles Police Department, Maine Township, Edward Jones, Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church, Niles Public Library, Saint John Lutheran Church, and Ross Dress for Less.??

Monika Kalicki, Director of Marketing, says, "Golf?Mill?Shopping Center is energized to see this program become an annual tradition. The friendly competition brings organizations together to this year support the Maine Township Food Pantry."
